Holy Cow - I'm so darn EXCITED!
My much publicised elevation to the next decade takes place in 20 days.
My husband has just been out to pick up my birthday present - and I was allowed to hold it (put the filter on it) and take a few test shots to check all was in order before tucking it away until the 25th - I could PEE with excitement!
Meanwhile I should mention it is the Canon 10-22mm - YIPPEE!
And I'd like to give a HUGE plug to !photobuff here in Melbourne, Australia.
//www.photobuff.com.au/
This lens retails full price her for full price AUS$1,349.95.
Last week an Ebay seller offered it NEW for $850 with a Hoya filter - but when I tried to complete the sale couldn't get contact with him.
Dear roz suggested !photobuff - I emailed them the offer I had, they matched it immediately, but then I ended up with it for AUS$839 as they'd JUST listed it for on Ebay - YEAH!
It's not always easy here in Australia to get equipment reasonably priced new (or second hand for that matter) often it's tempting to buy in from overseas, particularly while our dollar is doing so well.
This seller also sells on Ebay - and the stock is here in Melbourne - I ordered it at 7pm last night and had it in my hands 15 hours later - with a tax invoice and 12 month warranty - TOO COOL!
Oh Happy Days - now I think I need a little lie down before I pass out with excitement!

Why yes indeedy Bill we are - and from the moment I touched it my heart EXPLODED with delight - it's SO WIDE - OH YEAH!
Crystal - Thanks for starting the collection for replacement underwear - I mean I am going to be 40 - perhaps it's time I looked into descrete undergarment protection - particularly if my lens addiction continues to be fed - I've got my eye on the Canon 100mm 2.8! SMILE! |

OMG .. reading about those prices its just so excellent that you were able to get it that much cheaper .. that's huge .. wot an amazing difference in price ... you might be thanking me, but really you'd have to thank owen owen coz he's the one who suggested photobuff to me ...
and OMG again !!!!!! i dont know how you're gonna wait till the 25th .. thats like 3 weeks away ... i'd be 'stealing' it out'v the bag for some clandestine shots when no-one was looking !! ...
happy shooting my friend .. :)xxxx
my tamron is back from being fixed ... well its at the shop waiting for me to pick it up .. i havent had time to go get it yet coz of doing an extension and stuff on our house .. its been gone nearly 8 weeks .. i used to whinge about it all the time, but there are things that i would appreciate about it now after the canon 100mm macro, which is THE best lens, but if its all you have it can be a bit limiting .. like its a fixed lens at 100mm .. i couldnt even get far away enough from the house to get it all in one shot ... and i could get quite far away seeing there arent any houses near us .. like i was standing 20 meters away in the paddock & had to take four shots and put them together in photoshop .. wot a pain .. lol lol ... xx

Lisa, you're gonna love it. I love mine. Gives you a whole new perspective on things! Are you sure you can't talk your hubby into getting it a wee bit early?? Tell him there's a little something in it for him.... then take his portrait up close, VERY up close and distorted, and have a sketch artist work it up for you. :-) (Might not be what he had in mind, though.) |
