So. I was out shopping and went to Circuit City to look for corel painter's simple version. They didn't have it, but then I was showing a friend some external drives & suggesting to him that he get one because he doesn't have a lot of room on his hd. Then I looked at this one that was 160 gb and it was only 69.99 and no mail-in rebate. Hot dawg. I have a backup. Funny how fast I forgot my friend was there with me.
Anyone use these drives? Are they reliable?

Best Buy 500GB WD MyBook for 129.99 same price as amazon.com no shiiping of course lol.

Im guessing yours is a SimpleTech branded drive? Not sure as for the WD MyBook's some of the early versions have issues with the case dying. People think its the drive that dies its not, you take it apart and hook the drive to the PC and the drive is fine.

Good luck with yours im sure its fine.

BAH dont do that lol, hehe yeah im tempted to sort everything one by one to my backup, once my files are sorted copy them back to the main HD and do backups with the one touch backup button.... Never trust a drive that much!

All my photo's are stored on both my Seagate 160gb external drive and on my laptop (I have a partitioned "D" drive just for my documents/photo's). My desktop's harddrive was so full windows was giving me all sorts of warnings.

I've recently backed up all my photos to an external hard drive. I really am going to have to delete a lot of them from my computer because at last count I had less than 4gb of free space.

I use a little Simpletech 40GB USB drive. I really like it, nice and compact and light, and runs on USB power. It's probably slower than one of the full size drives, but I don't run games off it or anything.

Thanks MadMan. Mine is a usb drive also. It took about 40 minutes to transfer 19gb of data. Not so fast but it's red. and cute.
