A few months back I took some pictures of fruit with a white backdrop. There looked like there was some dark spots on it. I thought it was probably the white sheet I used.

A few weeks later, same thing only with outdoor shots. I thought that it might have been the filter, so I washed it.

Yesterday, there was a beautiful sky out and I decided, with my 12-24 already attached to my D80 that I would take some shots. As you can see, in the first 2 pictures there's nothing, but in the last 2 pictures the same odd shape appears. This is the same shape, and same location I've had in previous pictures.

I've tried cleaning my sensor with the blower, as well as the lenses. I doubt it's the lens since the first time this happened in which I noticed was with my 50mm. It's almost as if it comes and goes. Is this 'hotpixel' or something more serious? What should I do?

its not a pixel or a hot pixel or anything of that sort. its too big and has a shape.

Removing statically attached dust with a blower is like trying to knock someone over with a fan. Its not really effective. Dust stuck to an electricly charged surface takes a bit of force to get off there is sensor cleaning kits for that.

Just follow the damn instructions for gods sakes dont mess it up.

PS: the bottom two look the same as far as what it thew top two... cant tell.

The top 2 are pictures taken FIRST where there is clearly NOTHING there. It's later on that there are visible marks.

It's clearly a Vorgon mother ship.

Check your settings... The first two look like you may have had a wider aperture setting. The smaller your aperture, the more obvious sensor dust is. Looks like sensor dust to me... pretty easy to clean off.

Sensor Dust. Blowing off the sensor doesn't always clean it.

You may want to try cleaning your sensor with these.
