Hey everyone, I came across this site and was amazed by everyones great photos and it has got me even more interested in photography but i was wondering if anyone had any advice to get me starter, or for what camera to get? Thanks alot - Rob Clark |

Get the Canon EOS 1DS to start with and then pick out a few lenses to go with it.

First thing you should do is ignore Setzler! :P
What camera you get depends on what you want to take pictures of, what you think you will want to eventually take pictures of, and your budget. If money is no option then you could go with Setz's choice, otherwise you'll need to find a camera that has the most features for your budget.
Best advice is determine how much you have to spend and look at cameras in those ranges, then research what features they have and what you want. When you've narrowed it down to a few cameras you can ask here and I'm sure people will offer suggestions and tell you the good/bad points of each.
A good place to start researching would be dpreview.

Thanks for your advice. So an slr is better than using a digital camera then? |

Lot's of money and lot's of time to learn.If you have both it might be a good investment.
