Hey all- for those of you who helped me choose a laptop, I got the 17" Dell E1705 with Vista. I'm happy with all the specs - saved some money by doing the upgrades myself.. but now that I'm trying to calibrate my computer with my Spyder2express, I'm having trouble.

The colors that I'm getting are VERY different from those on my desktop, which is also calibrated.. or so I think. I never actually noticed a difference pre and post calibration, but I figured maybe it was already spot on. Now I'm beginning to wonder if my Spyder even works.

Anyhow, if anybody has any ideas on how to fix this I would be very appreciative.. if not, would anybody at least be able to go here: //www.chromasia.com/iblog/
It's a portrait of a child, just to be sure you're looking at the right photo. This has the most noticeable difference between the two computers - on my desktop it's certainly sepia toned, whereas on my laptop it's definitely black and white. I'm inclined to believe my desktop is more accurate, but am curious to hear what everyone else sees and thinks.

Addendum: I made some prints recently of photos that I made on my desktop - they seemed to correspond fairly well, but I'm now wondering if I compared closely enough. I don't have them anymore, as they were gifts for my cousin.

It's not B&W.

Okay, thank you. I tried again calibrating the laptop and it actually worked this time.. so the results are much closer to my desktop. Now it's just the viewing angle thing that bothers me sometimes (ie: sitting slightly higher or lower gives me a different amount of brightness/contrast).
