This week Team Suck has awarded the YAPPIE for outstanding commenting to taterbug.
Originally posted by alans_world: It is with honor I nominate, taterbug, for the Yappie. Not only did he comment on most if not all of the puzzle macro shots, but his comments where Oobie material. Below are just a few.
“internal liner pads from the drum of a Nutech combination birdseed polisher/toenail scrubber?”
“looks like the face cover plate on a Bush 2000ZX spectral moron analyzer’
“a Japanese albino watermelon, that ironically enough are only found in Madagascar”
“decorative siding on an Amana watermelon toaster?”
I think you will agree this would make Douglas Adams proud, and certainly deserves recognition. |
Congratulations, taterbug! |

A very worthy winner - he cheered up a miserable day for me when he commented on my Puzzle Macro. |

Wowsers!!! What a pleasant surprise this morning when I found the notice for this in my e-mail :-)
I am very honored! The award is on my profile page.
I have to admit, my comments on that challenge were'nt really helpful at all, but it was fun, and I really enjoyed commenting on it. I hope people liked the comments/guesses I left. I feel everyone could use a little silliness now and then :-)
I was pleased to see that a couple of people took shots of parts of a Johnson propane banana sharpener.
My 2 favorites though were these-

if I am right, you are a very lucky individual! That looks like the ceremonial gold quill pen that was used to sign the very obscure bill HR5005.67248 into law at Lake Himmonomiwinniac-aahhh, MI. , that prohibits flatulence within 200 yards of any upper peninsula nunneries. That thing is worth a fortune. Are you a yooper? :-)

Hey, if this is what I think it is, I used to know a guy that dated a girl that had one. It was a metal pillow that she said was only made for a short time in certain Pennsylvania forges in the mid 1900's. It was designed by the reknowned metal smith master, Pierre St. John Dominique Finklestein in secrecy for a very small, and eccentric order of masochistic nuns, who lived in total privacy and seclusion hidden away in the remotest wilderness of New Jersey. The sect has long since desolved, not surprising, considering at the height of their day, there numbers never surpassed 3 full blown members. Only a handful of these 'special' pillows were ever made, at least authentic Finklestein pieces (there were some far inferior copies made by various unscrupolous designers), and today they are, aside from being quite valuable, hightly coveted collectables, and they make for an outstanding conversation piece to have on display in your living room. But I'm sure you are well aware of all this. You are very fortunate, indeed my friend. :-)
Anyways, thank-you for bestowing me with the very honored Yappie award!

Congrats on your Yappie. You are a character, that's for sure. Loved reading those comments. Keep them rolling.
And he's a Michigander too, may look you up the next time we visit home.
