Mastering Black and White Digital Photography by Michael Freeman is a VERY worthwhile read if you are really interested in making excellent b/w images. I have been through this book several times, and some sections even more than that.

I actually went out and bought this book and it goes far beyond anything I've ever read on the internet. In practice I don't use anything to advanced from it (yet) but it did help me identify opportunities to use black and white such as to show texture or light and shadows. |
