I think you've got the grunge down well, but I don't think they really fit the pictures you chose. |

I would second that, I think the portrait style images would look better as is without the grunge. It would work best with the hand holding shot, but the 'swoosh' feel is a bit distracting.

The grunge part is cool and the portraits are cool, but grunge portraits are...dark, brooding if you will, the poses don't really fit the processing for me...

Tooooooooooo happy and bright. THe first one would probably work best, just needs to be a lot less bright. |

I agree. The grunge is cool and you did a great job with them but they kinda bring down the otherwise great pictures...makes them depressing. |

here's where i got the textures from

basically put the texture over top of the rest of the layers, desaturate (if you want to), add a little contrast, set the layer to Overlay or Hard Light, and mask it out a little bit.
so easy :)
