Sigma Burglary
The offices and warehouse of Sigma Imaging (UK) Ltd were broken into on the night of Friday 15th June.
The theft was captured on CCTV and police are currently investigating. The burglary is believed to have been carried out by a professional gang who stole a large quantity of Sigma products.
Sigma have a record of all the stolen products and their serial numbers, available here, and ask members of the public to be aware of any Sigma products being sold at lower than usual prices. Sigmaâs supply chain was temporarily disrupted and we regret any disappointment or delay caused to our customers.
Sigmaâs normal efficient service has been resumed and every effort is being made to replace the stolen goods. In addition to being vigilant, we would ask our customers to be patient and understanding of any temporary delays.
If you are suspicious of a Sigma product you have seen for sale, please telephone Sigma immediately on 01707 329 999. |

If the items were palletized it could have been done in minutes. |

It's amazing sometimes how vulnerable companies allow themselves to get. Inside jobs are all too easy in a lot of places.
I was shocked to find out that a temporary employee's security badge allows them into an unoccupied building at 11:30pm where I work. Nothing will probably ever happen, but if someone wanted to, this place could be screwed. Even if it was just an upset employee that came over and started mashing on computers. The whole company would come to a hault in the morning and it would cost the business millions. |

25 years? People get off with less for raping little kids or driving drunk and killing a car full of people.
They probably don't have the bugs worked out of it yet anyway. |

Heh theyre getting tuff sometimes but not always, Hell My stepfather got ran over by a drunk driver in a stolen jeep, he died. His third offense for DUI, Vehicle was borrowed without permisison only because it didnt need a breathalizer.
Guy only got 18 months....
On the flip side a guy got charged with 25 years for carrying a handgun without a permit, part of Marylands new EXILE law.

I guess that any of the end-purchasers of the stolen lenses would get caught when they tried to send them back to Sigma to get them re-chipped.
Sorry, lame attempt at humour.

I didn't mean that literally. It was still one heck of a haul. I'd like to see the video though.
