Is there a secret to ironing a shirt and using spray starch and it not flaking to heck?!! I'm taking some product photos of polo shirts and I'm ironing them and the dark shirts particularly get reeeealy flaky.
I'm using Niagara Original spray starch and have the iron on medium.
He'p me!
Thanks in advance.

If you're flaking, you're using too much. A fine mist only. Yea, I know, I'm a guy. |

Try turning the shirt inside out. Do you need them to be stiff? If not, use a spray bottle with water to dampen the shirt a little. That should be good enough to get the wrinkles out.
I'm not a homemaker, but I worked in a dry cleaners for a few years. |

Shake the can of starch well. Spray it lightly with a fine mist. Wad the shirt up and allow to set for a couple of minutes so the starch soaks in. (if you have dry spots after, dampen with a mist of water only). Set the iron temperature 1 mark lower than recomended for the fabric. I flakes do develop, us a stiff brush to whisk them away. If all else fails, try a professional dry cleaners. It's usually only about $1.25 to have a shirt laundered and ironed on a hanger. :)> |

Let me guess.
1. You live by yourself in a cave and never have to wear a suit.
2. Your significant other is a pregnant 19 year old.
3. That's women's work!
4. You still live with your mother.

or 5) I wear a suit to work daily and realize that if it takes more than about 3 minutes to iron each shirt, I'm making less per hour than I pay my assistant. |
