Well, I've been working a good deal of overtime and managed to miss both of our snowstorms photo-wise.. but today I did go out briefly and get some shots.
I'd very much appreciate any comments, suggestions, etc you all might have. Especially if you think there might be a better way to approach the photo from a pre-shoot angle.
They are calling for more snow Sunday night so maybe I can get out there before work on Monday and get some of that pretty white stuff.
Here's the shots:

Thank you for taking the time to look!

And here are two more that I shot after my first post and just finished editing. I think it may be time for sleep now. ;) Oh, if anyone knows the name of this type of carnation, let me know!
Ruffled Carnation
Unfurled
Thanks again in advance for any comments!

Looks like you are off to a good start :)
I like the puttering at work shot. The colors, contrast and sharpness are very nice. And the curved sidewalk along the bottom is a nice touch. Could have some nice possiblities.
The other shots are very nice also.

I think carnatons grow in red, blue, and white , the white ones have food coloring or a floral dye could be wrong though check out this site,

They are good pictures! I like the green background with them, I used white and blue carnations in my wedding, heres a better link to naming the different kinds of carnations and there is something about how they put color on them!//www.suite101.com/article.cfm/701/27889
