I was out at the zoo today with my son, and a complete stranger walked up to me and said, "Aren't you Shannon from DPChallenge?" ;-)

OK, so I'm not going to steal the paparazzi away from Brad Pitt anytime soon, but it was fun to be recognized by grabberj. Nice to meet you!

Scalvert...that is way cool...but I am afraid the only way I would recognise you is if you wore your Dr Seuss outfit...lmao! I think I would fall over backwards if I ran into any of you in my town!

You might. And you might not. I got my hair cut. VERY short. I think the only person who will have less hair is Kiwiness. :-)

lol. I've had my head shaved a few times. I'm good with recognizing girls even with short or no hair. But now i'm curious if I'll be able to recognize you. It's a mission.

when I was in the states I would watch other photographers and try to see if I recognized them from here, I am however pretty bad at remembering faces so I have probably seen a few but didn't know it lol. It's another reason I want a DPC shirt, hat or jacket.

I did just notice an image in a current challenge that very closely looks like something here in Oki so maybe I will be able to find someone soon...would love a Okinawa GTG.

lol, thats really cool! I sometimes look at photographers and wonder, but even if I was 99.9% sure it was someone from here I wouldn't go up to them, just in case!

Wow, grabberj is pretty brave. If I saw you, Shannon, I'd start running in the other direction! j/k First I'd try to get surreptitious candid shots of you picking your nose for blackmail purposes. :)

Twice that I know of. Oddly enough, the first time was also at the zoo!

The first time was during the first DC Night Tour in 2004. blemt, jmsetzler and I were at the National Zoo. I was shooting some ducks while Clara and John headed over to the gift shop. They started talking shop with some guy with a camera, who ended up asking them, "have you ever heard of a site called DPChallenge?" The guy was durkovic, and he ended up joining us for the overnight shoot.

drewmedia and langdon were at the Mystery Dinner Theater and one of the performers, seanachai, recognized them.
