Does anyone here use the MLB.TV service?
The only major league baseball team I can follow on TV with any consistency here in North Carolina is the Atlanta Braves. I have been looking at my options, and this one seems ok. The DirecTV season ticket package is $200. This MLB.TV premium looks really cool with the ability to watch up to six games at once...

You must really like your baseball!
Seem kinda spensive to me-- plus you gotta have a real fast connection to get close to Tv quality frame rates--
But go for if you love BB--
Was there a sample stream that you could click to check the qulaity? |

My sister had some issues with it. She wanted to watch Cardinals games, but they're not carried on stations in northwestern Illinois. So she signed up for mlb.tv only to discover that they were blocking her from watching the games she wanted to see because she was supposedly inside the broadcasting area - why they did that, I have NO idea. Then she had to hassle them to get a refund. So I bought her an XM Radio instead so she can listen to the radio broadcasts.

MLB.TV would be blacking out Atlanta and Cincinnati for me. I don't care much to watch the Reds and I can catch just about every Braves game on TV if I choose... I'm interested in picking up the Pittsburgh Pirates games, which I can't get much of here without buying a primo package of some sort.

I'm looking at the premium package that is $89/yr or $20/month so I can use the Mosaic program to watch more than one game at a time. I have 5mbps service so the bandwidth won't be an issue on my end as long as they can pump it out as fast as they say they can.

Think about it for a second... 20 dollars a month..good...I go that route... only cost you 11.00 thru the World Series..then if it doesn't meet expectations your not..out the $89 all at once. I has the World Baseball Classic last year ...and it was ok...some of those games had one camera if you believe that...but here you will get the real deal.. |

I subscribed to the standard MLB.TV service for a month to see how I like it. It seems nice so far :)

I think you will get your fill of MLB..with that subscription..like I said before...I use the audio...and I think it's the greatest..to get any broadcast available..home and away...and this year you get the audio thrown in..if you chose to listen instead.. |

What I do is tell my satellite company (dish network) that the unit is installed at my mother-inlaw's house (SF Giants Market). I have the bill sent to my house (LA Dodgers Market). So, I live in the LA Dodgers market, but I get to watch all of the SF Giants Games.
Do you know anyone in the Pittsburgh area you could use as your service address (even though the satellite would remain on your roof)?
Good luck! |
