The 2012 Logo should be a pic of Biz Markey wearing a Union Jack t-shirt with "2012 bay-beee!!" on it.

this logo makes much more sense. The other one, I really had to figure out what it was. Never realized that it said 2012 until I read the caption next to it.

I liked Ken's (Livingstone) suggestion, which was, as he put it; "London 2012, and underneath, the five olympic rings, with my face placed inside each one." :@)

...Actually, they should have left it up to the people to decide on the design, on the news last night, they did a survey and asked people to send in their own designs, and some of them were actually quite good.

Some can be seen at BBC London.

Well...there's 400 grand down the swanny.

The official logo is awful. It took me awhile to figure out that those red things were the numbers 2012!

It should have cost anything, at all. It hasnt be constructed into anything and even at a 100 dollar an hour design fee that would cost about 10 bucks worth of time lol.

Trivia: the Vancouver logo was inspired by the local landmark featured in my March free study entry:

Thrilling, I know...

Not knowing the origins of the London logo, I truly cannot make any comments on it other than it is not appealing to me and seemingly has no redeemable historical value.

The Vancouver logo on the other hand does have a very distinct meaning, as it is a depiction of an item well know to anyone having travelled in the arctic, namely the "Inukhuk"

Ray

the problem i have with that is vancouver is about as anti-arctic as you can get in canada. the only reason they picked it is cause of that giant inukshuk sitting down in english bay. I mean, if youre going to use native art for the logo, why not use something more locally relevant, something westcoast like a haida totem pole?

Is it just my dirty mind or does the logo look slightly erotic?

Must stay out of the heat...:)

lol... if anyone is familiar with the X-Games it looks like something they would have used or designed kind of looks like they are trying to get a graffiti look to attract a younger audience.

But it is ugly...

Probably only one, but that would come with three NHS managers to administer it.

"A poll by the BBC News website asked readers to give it a gold, silver or bronze medal, or a wooden spoon if they really didn't like it. Eighty three percent gave it a wooden spoon."

LOL Sucks to be the person who designed it! It really is crap!

LMAO
