I have recently released my second series of postcards. There are nearly 30 available in the stores so far from this series.

But I wanted to mention that the two postcard images that were sent out after the Postcard Challenge to those members who requested them....they are also selling well. So hold onto them folks...they may be worth something down the track.

Would be interesting to see where postcards like this end up, and/or if they ever arrive at their destinations. I wouldn't be surprised to see these as being your best sellers with such a fine view and all :) Congrats!

Great to hear! How can they not sell like hotcakes?

Mine arrived at the destination, but it is also true that Judi put it an envelope. Thanks Judi! :)

You are welcome. I have since learnt that one member didn't get theres. I put everyones in an envelope. If you requested one and didn't receive it...please let me know.

I´d buy one :P Maybe I should talk to a publisher about my postcard as well, Judi, may I copy paste your nekkid butt in there so it will sell?

Hahahahaha...go for it! Although I am sure you have plenty of nekkid butts, way better than mine, for you to choose from. LOL!!

yeah, without the wrapper, i imagine more than a few getting 'lost' in the mail truck ;-)

congrats, judi! i know it's hard work, but if someone's got to do it, they might as well make a few bucks ;-)

Thanks Skip.

I had one newsagent ask if it bothered me that I was in the postcard. I replied...'if you can't have a laugh at yourself...then you may as well give up'. And with that...they went on the shelves..and were the first sales from all the series. There are only 2 risque images out of nearly 30 postcards....so there is plenty for them to choose from. So I was very pleased they chose to go with them.

I've found this to be the key problem -- distribution.

How did you get them placed in the stores? Information on the research and marketing techniques you used would be most useful (to the rest of us competitors!). ;-)

Yes and also where you can have the postcards printed. I have been wanting to do this for ages. Any info would be great.

Congrats Judi they are wonderful images.

That's awesome, Judi and good self-marketing ;)

I'm sure they'll be great sellers. I still have mine WITH a big kiss mark on it and signed! :D

In the US, VistaPrint is a good place to start -- you can get small quantities to experiment with; the link should give you 25%-off your first order.

Basically my work is very well known in my area. So it wasn't too difficult to speak to the stores. Also considering I have already been selling 2 calenders each year for the past 3 years, throughout stores right across Central Queensland( covering about 600kms). I have also had my images on postcards for a couple of years now for another company. As they also have my name on them the stores are more than familiar with my name. That company covers Australia in the postcard industry.

So I just approached the stores and showed them samples of my range. I then ordered in barcodes so they are now internationally recognised to my company name....had the postcards printed up with the barcodes on them...and started filling the orders. I don't leave them with the stores on consignment...they buy directly from me...and then they are responsible for their own sales.

They do request certain images over time and I make sure I supply to the clients demand.

It isn't that difficult a job...just fiddly and time consuming. I am carrying over 7000 in stock at the moment...I have to, to keep up with the range and demand.

I hope that helps.
