I think it might be a good idea to have a section under "Learn" to discuss basics about what makes a good photo. There was an article posted on these forums and I've asked for the URL over in the Q&A forum, I think it would be a good idea if we posted something like that in the Learn forum that teaches people what sort of thing makes one picture technically better than another. Obvsiously there is going to be difference of opinions as to whether which of two technically good photos is better, but none the less I think it would be a good exercise.

In medicine, things like this are often dealt with in a "roundtable" format. Usually, there would be a "moderator" who could ask specific questions, in addition to the general comments.
How about having 3-7 photographer-members (of varying experience and styles) each provide a specific and detailed critique (it's a noun) of the same photo, or maybe a pair of similar photos?

Here is another good site that discusses the psycology of color.

This site could explain the reason why so many of the winning photos have done so well.

I like colors as long as they are black and white :)
