Awwwww... does she vote you a one and not leave comments too?
05/23/2007 03:23:50 PM · #4
i bet she never heard of voting in her life, she only here's her little voices in her head saying "YOU ARE THE BEST" "YOU KNOW EVERYTHING" "YOU RULE" "OTHERS ARE NOOBS"

sigh =)

You are probably a better photographer then your teacher. Play her game and learn what you can.

lowonenergy I feel your pain. I'm stuck in the "shooting something I've never seen before" and "does it have meaning" nighmare. Oh and you think the d60 is a pain? I spent yesterday wresting with one of these which had the potential to be fun but one camera between 3 people and 3 hours to learn how to use it and get two shots at AU$6.50 per transparency...it was a joke. But we'll get there, we're tough, we can handle it. How long is your course?

And here I was thinking that I hated my photography classes because I couldn't use my camera in anything other than manual mode and I couldn't drop the FILM off at Walmart for processing.

Wait, I loved my photography classes, especially the darkroom part :-)

*thanks goodness he learned photography before digital became a reality*

yea well I have to, otherwise I can't go to next year lol!

The course is finished now, I only have to make up a nice book and print it out (A3 size). So i'm glad it's over, but it made me frusterated today beh..

Stupid thing is also, when me (or another student) asks why we can't use our own digital camera (slr) she doesn't have a argument and just says you have to learn other camera's
(well.. i've used it last year in this class too... ) still .. nothing penetrates her metal skull lol!

I'm only allowed to shoot in RAW and the camera is NEVER allowed of manuual but I'm liking film except that it's so rushed. And the good news is now I've had a go at medium and large format I can borrow those babies and process the film myself anytime so it'll get better. Photoshop class is my favorite, it's my haven in the madness course.

Your finished! Damn I'm just starting 2.5 years to go...well 3 if I fail anything.

Yea, i'm glad this course isn't the main thing from my study.
I'll be glad to leave this school aswell and try to follow photography course (only photography)

(Oh wait, with a course i mean a lose part of my study of free choice)
Not my main study ;-) 'That's Interactive Design (multimedia)

I could say you're right but I'm not :) Having limitations is a great way to learn. You can use your fancy toys when you're away from class.

Yes, but what's the difference:
both must be Manual
both have 50mm

+ for me is when I use my own:
faster navigation, setting up, more mp, more focus points

So.. I prefer my own over that older one (even though it's a good camera)

Did you click my link? Now that baby takes manual and old to a whole new level complete with disappearing under a black cloth to focus the thing. This is what you'll do in photography school be prepared.

hehe yea, i've clicked it.
And to be honest, i'm looking forward useing that thing or atleast hold it :D

(I don't I can compare this)
but i've used a medium format film camera (have one) and it's also with a bridge (don't know exact name) It's though to get the light right, that's what I know haha ;)

They are fun, you'll love doing a straight photography course and this is just a stepping stone to that.

Part of taking a class is learning what the teacher has to offer. I'm sure you knew on the first day that you could only use the supplied cameras. At that point you could have thrown your tantrum and quit the class. Since you didn't you need to play by her rules.

I'm sure she has reasons for the way she's teaching. I can't imagine trying to teach a basic photography class to a bunch of students that all had their own cameras they wanted to use. It also levels the field so that some students don't have an advantage over others that are stuck using the supplied cameras.

Part of being a teacher is having control. Part of control is order. Without order everything goes willie-nilly and students get left behind. If you think you're too advanced for the class, drop it and let the students that are there to learn from the teacher, learn.

Summary: Show some damn respect.

lol I know what you mean, and I can go with it too.
It's just that she knows what I can, but she still treads everyone the same.. which I think is a bit weird. Some people are a bit more advanced some not, as a teacher you could see that or figure that out and play on it.

Well, it's finished now glady and well I did listen too her.
But the point is just she doesn't give a fair fundation when we ask something simple. It's just her way or no way that's what I was fury about lol ;-)

I do have respect no question about it.. i just can't stand her something (not the only one.. lol!)
