Im helping out with a "overhaulin" of my friends dads 69' buick skylark. Im compiling a video that documents the progression of the car from before till the reveal in the middle of next month. My question is, what would some good music be for this? I can only think of 'fuel' by metalica, but the guy is olderish and wont like that song, perhaps an older song? I want something that will fit good. Any thoughts?

Perhaps this list can help you.

You shouldn't have much problem finding something that will fit. Lots of car and cruisin songs out there. Metallica for a 69 skylark doesn't seem right however.

I think you should choose a song from this, and then move into a more serious song ;)

The perfect song is playing in my head right now (but you can't hear it......can you???) Seriously, check out the soundtrack to the movie "Pulp Fiction" for some great songs that I think will work very well for the video that you described.

I can't remember the name, but the song that I am thinking of was playing when Vincent was driving at night to pick up Mia for their "date".

It's an instrumental, otherwise I'd sing it for you. I'll look for the CD later when I get back home.

Jeff Beck-Come Dancing might take some imagination but this is what I'd use for something similar. Depends on how long you cut it and the transitions.

Awesome tune...

Whenever I score videos I generate music with Acid Pro. It's a great piece of software and requires almost no musical ability to create instrumental music.

It's pretty costly, though, but there are many sites on-line where you can find loops for free.

Well, the wheels are most likely black and the "olderish" guy might be wearing some black when he drives the car??? OR the videographer could do quick cutaway's to black pavement??? ;P

Could work regardless of color? You Shook Me All Night Long's lyrics start out perfectly but twist up a bit. Might be worth a listen.

Cars. You could use the original Gary Numan version, although I like Fear Factory's remake better :-D

Probably cheaper than licensing any of the tunes mentioned in this thread though.

The Doors- Roadhouse Blues
Here's the lyrics:

Doors, The
Morrison Hotel (1970)
Roadhouse Blues

Ah Keep your eyes on the road,
Your hands upon the wheel.
Keep your eyes on the road
Your hands upon the wheel.
Yeah, we're going to the roadhouse,
Gonna have a real good-time.

Yeah, the back of the roadhouse,
They've got some bungalows.
Yeah, the back of the roadhouse,
They've got some bungalows.

They dance for the people
Who like to go down slow.

Let it roll, baby, roll.
Let it roll, baby, roll.
Let it roll, baby, roll.
Let it roll, all night long.

Do it, Robby, Do it!

You gotta roll, roll, roll,
You gotta thrill my soul, alright.
Roll, roll, roll, roll-a
Thrill my soul.

*improv*

Ashen-Lady.
Ashen-Lady.
Give up your vows.
Give up your vows.
Save our city.
Save our city.
Ah, right now.

Well, I woke up this morning
And I got myself a beer.
Well, I woke up this morning
And I got myself a beer.

The future's uncertain
And the end is always near.

Let it roll, baby, roll.
Let it roll, baby, roll.
Let it roll, baby, roll.
Let it roll, all night long.
