so hey. r we supposed to submit to the DPC Album Cover challenge this sunday. does that one count in the league?

hi shanny .... and i reckon the fact you like japanese food counts even more than me being to japan a hundred years ago!!!!!!!!!! ... i spose i would've eaten japanese food while i was there, BUT I DONT REMEMBER!!

Dutchies too :P

And Roz, I spoke to Lisa about you being in the team. We agreed that we love your optimism. You have the spirit and that's what I think is number 1 priority. You can cheerlead us thrue the 2 first rounds!

The private topic isn't available yet, I think it will be on monday. :)

thanks han for your lovely compliment ... dont think many teams would want someone on the team who cant actually play!! .. you must certainly be the best/ nicest/ loveable/ agreeable/ balanced/ attractive team in dpc .. it goes without saying that you are also the very best photographers .. i suck, so me not being able to enter for 2 weeks will make absolutely no difference at all !!!

there are lots of different ways to desaturate ...
you can do adjustment layer hue/sat and desaturate entirely in that adjustment layer .. then you can paint with a brush in black within the adjustment layer at different opacities and brush sizes so that you re-introduce colour where you want it to be, and at wot intensity ... if you make a mistake in that adjustment layer you can just select white foreground colour and paint with your brush over where you made the 'mistake' and it will just desaturate back to the totally desaturated adjustment layer .. of course if it doesnt, then check your opacity on your brush .. you can also change the opacity of that adjustment layer as well ...
thats just one way ...
you can then use channel mixer and colour balance to give more depth and contrast to your image remembering that when you add another adjustment layer you have to have the background layer selected coz if the new adjustment layer goes 'above' the desaturated hue/sat adjustment layer it will not be affected by it and it wont do the adjustments you want ...
IT IS SO HARD TO EXPLAIN IN WORDS WOT IS SO EASY TO DO IN PHOTOSHOP .. :) ... and if i've told you stuff you already know it because i dont know wot you already know!!

ps .. you have an awesome portfolio .. love your work ..
reckon the harajuku girls will be AMAZING ...

and natasha .. there are other ways to selectively desaturate ... i'm just going to go eat something and talk to my daughter and then maybe tell you some other ways .... reckon you'll probably get a blue ribbon after seeing the stuff in your portfolio !!!
altho it might be a toss up between you, shanny, lisa and kelly ...
WOW .. wot a team ... !!! obviously we'll be heading for the first top four places in this selective desat challenge .. and tell you wot .. if i could enter we'd get another ribbon as well ... BROWN !!!!!!!!!! XX

Oh Harajuku Girls - we have a private thread!

If you go to League up the top Menu bar and then when it opens on the top left hand side there is a box that says DPL Quick links - select the Private discussion thread and you're there!
