Question: how does this photo make you feel? What does this photo say to you?
I need as much opinions as possible in a short time, so PLEASE feel free to comment in this topic.
I'll be thankful for ever and ever and ever!!
(technical tips are handy for the next time, but maybe you have some PP-tips for me too?) |

She's smiling for Chucky!
Black dress with black background (no differentiation)= freaky looking clown girl head with disjointed arms, lol. |

What could have been just a cute happy little girl holding balloons, was greatly changed with the corners of the mouth make-up turned upwards and to a sharp point, but in the same manner as The Joker in the Batman series. Because of that, the image sticks around, making one look and study it longer than otherwise, and one that is more remembered than just another pretty picture.
Techincals - the balloon string on the right is tilted (breeze in the studio?) and the right wrist (as viewed) has some issues with the shadows. May want to pop the catch lights in the eyes a bit more too. (may just be this resolution). |

It's a good photo technically apart from the dress blending in with the background. It has a creepy feel to it because of the black background and dress. And because the makeup is over the top.

Maybe if she showed her teeth while smiling it might look more real instead of "Hahahaha, do you KNOW what I'm gonna do next???" Put a couple of red circles on her cheeks.
I thought the arms looked weird because the dress was the same colour as the background. Otherwise it is a nice sharp photo.

Balloons make me nervous and her look is a little freaky. Now I must call my shrink.

Hanneke - I don't know how it is in Europe, but in the United States, clowns are generally considered creepy and a lot of people even have a sort of phobia about them. Notice that most people responding are American. Don't take the "creepy" comments too seriously if that's not the common feeling where you're at and Americans aren't the intended audience.

Feeling the youth of days gone by.... I sort of got that from the first shot but agree with the clown and black on black comments. Carefree is the feeling this shot gives me. Carefree and full of youthfull bliss.

Creepy. Looks like she was going to offer me a balloon, but since she's not wearing a costume she's not a real clown, and the bright orange is an attempt of bribing people who like colour into some dreadful fate. CONSPIRACY!

I had no clue that clowns were so scary, Rebecca. Then I'd better not say that I'm gonna work with them the coming couple of months on a photographic project ;)
I can't quite tell why I needed to know what you guys feel for the images (I will soon!), but you guys helped me a lot in this.
Thank you all for that!!!
