Hi, I've done another photoshoot for a local band who's website I also made. I've created some publicity posters and I was wondering if I could get your opinions on both the photo and the design of the poster.
There are 2 posters, one for an Xmas gig and one for a New Year gig:
I've also made a small leaflet, advertising them both:
Any advice on either the photography or the graphic design would be greatly appreciated, thanks :)

First of all, very well done!!
I only have one comment, and it may just be me, but in the poster shot the woman's arms look kind of strange and awkward. When I first looked at it, I thought her right arm and hand were a baton. It's a minor thing really.

I think it's well laid out, aesthetically.
My only critical comment is that it seems a bit, well, sorry for the term, "posterized". That is, the grays in their faces don't look very smooth or continuous. But that may be necessary or even an eventual byproduct of printing the posters using less expensive technology.
On the christmas poster, I personally think the hats look a little too "added-in", especially on the lady (the little one on the gentleman is ok, because it is obvious that this was intentional.) |

I think the group shot in the leaflet (also) is the best overall portrait of DNA as group and of each member as well. I agree about the santa hats looking too added in but I think it is offset by the tiny little hat used on the member to (my) far left of both Christmas images. Is it necessary to use to separate images in the leaflet and just put Santa Hats on the Pre Christmas Show and Not have them on for the post New Years show? Just a thought. later, RoB |

Great job!
I like the Christmas hat idea.
One thing I find distracting is the reverse mirror image effect of the word DNA? What is the intent behind this?
Also is my monitor going bad? The hats look orange in color? along with the text?
I also agree with Spazmo99 the ladies arms look strange, is she suppose to be holding something that is not showing up very well?
Real nice work overall.

She isn't holding anything, just the position makes it look like she is holding her other arm, lol.
The text and hats are orange, simply because black, white, and orange are "the band's colours" and I wanted to make it look uniform without too many different other colours. Also, the hats are supposeed to look fake, hehe. It's basically just supposed to be a funny rip-off of the other poster.
The mirror image on the DNA logo is just something the band asked for. "Can we have the word DNA kind of mirrored but not quite right?" so that's what I did. I kinda agree that it looks a bit weird.
