Afterwards, I think I was a little stupid to catch this, but WOW, what a shot!

I'm not sure if it was the before or after but it WAS one or it IS going to be one. It's not a full blown tornado but it looks like one was getting ready to touch down if not even for a second. Did the wind just stop and then get real heavy all of a sudden?

I don't know what part of Kentucky you are in, but the Jackson office of NOAA does not appear to have issued any recent tornado warnings. You can enter your more precise location to get more specific weather data.

Not a tornado, but a pretty healthy storm. Wish I could have been there.

=)

Wow that looks intense. Nice pics, I like the one from the pulled over perspective the best (5th I think).

Actually, it was on April 12 2007 around 7:45 pm
It brought some hail and straight line winds and one county over got some major damage.
It didn't hit me til today what potential damage could have happened to me!
But, I've never been afraid of storms. As a child, my brothers and sisters would anticipate storms with much joy! I shouldn't have been a storm chaser!

That looks very much like a wall cloud. Wall clouds are the birthplace of tornadoes.

Yep, I got to see a tornado pass over my house once...scary stuff looking up from the bottom to see my neighbors stuff swirling around in the sky...of course by that point it was pointless to seek shelter, lol. Touched down about 3 blocks away...WAY too close for comfort...wiped out about 1/3 of the town I live in...it was an F4 if I remember correctly...
