:)

will email you that picture (one in front of the waterfall), and any other you or others would like to have!

What a great day! I had an awesome time meeting all of you fellow DPC'ers. Thanks to the Saj and TonyT for arranging this get together. Thanks to all of you who provided the food and drinks that started our day out just right. Jeb had me smiling for most of the day and I really enjoyed his humor and fortitude. He was one of about 7 or 8 of us that made it the whole way around. I am embarrassed to be one of the last ones to post my pictures but Photoshop is still a challenge to me. I have posted the pictures in my profile since I have yet to learn how to post pics in threads. haha I know I know there is a tutorial on how to do it somewhere on here but I didn't want to be later than I am getting these pics out. Those that are posted were basically people pics. I'll get the ones with the waterfalls up later. Thanks again for a great day!

Second icon in from the right above the reply box on the left. A box pops up and you just plug in the image ID number. It inserts a thumb into the reply.

Oh, yeah......since people're mentioning help they got from the others at the GTG.....I'm blaming Alan for whatever about this set of falls looks right.

What a great GTG! Thanks to the organizers for making this one happen. Special thanks for not making it happen in the middle of a Nor'Easter!

It's going to take me weeks to get through these shots (particularly the high-contrast waterfall photos), but here's what I've got so far...

Great pictures everyone! I like the portrait series especially.

Wish I could have been there!

(On a side note, trying to look through them all gives new emphasis to the need for DPC to have a "next/prev" button on portfolio shots!)

I just downloaded some data from my GPS, and found that those of us who made it through the full loop of the falls trail had an elevation difference of 950 feet from the parking area to the top of the trail!

Special kudos to NikonJeb, who appeared to be dying at several points of the hike (and was resuscitated by a couple generous hippies with a water bottle at one point), but actually made it back to the parking lot first of those of us who did the full trail.

And a special award goes to scooter97 who made the trek on bionic knees (ok, maybe they weren't actually bionic, but he said he's had multiple surgeries on them!).

So are we all down for spelunking the next PA GTG?

So long as we wait until I'm back from VT in late-August! ;-)

Ditto the GTG, but as far as caves go, I have the vision of Winnie the Pooh stuck in the rabbit hole......8>)

Some caves are big enough for boats to go in....we'll pick a big roomy cave.

;)

It's true! The knees aren't actually bionic. One has some screws and staples in it and the other has some borrowed bits from a dead guy. They won't let me get them replaced until I get old and cranky! Another hike like this one and I'll be ready! lol Did somebody mention Caves???

Hey, I'm up for another GTG. What caves are we going to this Sunday? :)
05/08/2007 08:10:07 PM · #171
This Sunday is Mother's Day and our first wedding anniversary - so no GTG for me.

;)
05/08/2007 08:13:39 PM · #172
I am open the following Sunday.
05/08/2007 08:25:12 PM · #173
here's one for you saj
05/08/2007 08:27:30 PM · #174
Well actually I was planning on going back to VT on the 20th, but if you guys are serious about having another one that soon, I could probably stay for it!
05/08/2007 08:29:55 PM · #175
Hehe. I was just joking when I said next Sunday. I didn't think anyone would take it seriously. :)

And for future consideration as to GTGs, if we're talking caves or caverns, keep Penn's Cave in mind. Caves and wildlife park. And pretty close to the center of PA.
