Ooh, I'm jealous! I have camped and hiked the falls trail at Ricketts Glen (and World's End as well) more times than I can begin to count but not for a few years now. Have a great time. :)

Since you know the area.....I was baptized in the little church next to the Sweet Shop in Eagles Mere; the very same one where my parents were married.

I've also spent many days along the Loyalsock camping and hiking.

Sullivan County, Pa, is IMNSHO one of the most beautiful places on earth.

I'm gonna bring my wife's famous "Disappearing Marshmallow Brownies" (which sounds better than simply "something" as the menu reads now).

I'm going to stay at the nearby Rickett's Glen Hotel on Saturday night... if I can bring myself to get up early I'll try to grab us a spot with a grill. The hotel is only a mile or two from the parking area.

Well....since I decided I'm coming no matter what, I am bringing this wonderful Coleman propane grille I have.....it's really cool as it has it's own sort of cantilever legs that collapse and it stows away nicely.

Just in case anyone cares.......8>)

I'm hoping to have time to make one of my wonderful pasta salads, but I may have to buzz through the grocery store on my way out of town depending on how Saturday goes.

This should be fun!

Is that a darker one with big wood beams inside?

Hiked portions of the LT many times - Angel Falls, Kettle Creek Gorge, Haystacks, High Knob, Gennessee View, Canyon Vista...good memories. Eder's Ice Cream on Rt 87? Frankie's in Montoursville? Now I'm feeling all nostalgic.

(Sorry, I'm done hijacking now. :) )

It sounds like fun. Just over four hours for me. Unfortunately, my wife just told me that we have tickets to see Hello Dolly on Sunday (and my son is in it), so I'll have to enjoy the park vicariously through your pictures.

And I didn't see any Tofu on the menu anyway ;)

Well, Shish-ka-bob is one good way :) We eat grilled Tofu and Eggplant (and tomato) sandwiches. Wonderful. Yes, you need to start with firm tofu. Sorry, we are sidetracking...let's leave it that there's a LOT of ways to barbecue tofu, and here's a link for you closet vegetarians who want to explore.

Have fun! And if Shannon tells you to stand somewhere so he can take your picture, make sure you look behind you. He may not "really" want a nice portrait of you :)

I haven't the faintest idea what you're talking about.

Highly doubt Nextel will work, may get a signal in a few random spots, Verizon is about the only one that might get service & that's even sketchy.

Hah, would love to do that. I'm still not riding on the roads yet. I need more practice.

And Rickett's Glen is near where I grew up, too. Can't wait to see the photos from the GTG!!

Meanwhile I'll be scouting for stuff in CA to shoot.

Remember to try TXT messages. Sometimes those can get through even in poor connections.

I'll have to bring my girlfriend then. She has Verizon.

Besides if you will have early luch you probably won't leave until 11AM or so and by that time I should be there.

She doesn't trust you to just bring her phone? :)

so are we exchanging phone numbers? I believe, I have Brent's number.

I am excited about the GTG, looks like a great day for a 2 hour ride!
And also I am running 12 portraits short on my 30 Day Portrait Challenge

I just talked to a coworker who lives by the park.

Verizon will work, but not too good.

Cingular (AT&T) is perfect. There are 4 towers right around there.

He thinks Sprint or Nextel has no service at all in that area.

I have Verizon and a pretty decent phone. Maybe it will work.

Very cool! (I got the room with its own bathroom... neener neener!).

I'm going to meet up with a couple college friends on the way up, so I should get up around there in the evening sometime. Shall I give you a call on your phone, which may or may not work in that area? :)

I picked up 5 2-liters of soda. Is anyone who lives close able to bring ice? And we don't wanna forget cups.

The question is, am I actually going to meet Spydr this time, or will I only almost meet him?

Hey Stiger, could you get some cups?
