Take your average score from before the voting started and multiply it by then total number of votes taht you had. Now, take your current average and multiply it by your current total. The new total from the old total and divide by the difference in nuber of votes. If you have other challenges in voting, it becomes a little harder becasue you have to subtract them out.

Mine:

Before today - 5.5692 average x 15006 votes = ~83571
Now - 5.5676 average x 15047 votes = ~83776
FS 2007-03 Score = 205 "points" / 41 votes = 5.0000

OK, first get some values we need for our calculation:
TV = the total number of votes received from your profile
AV = average vote received from your profile
CV = number of votes received on your in entry
PA = average vote received before the Free Study

We than calculate the real Free Study score as follows:

((TV*AV)-((TV-CV)*PA))/CV

Note that if you have more than one entry in voting then you'll need to be trickier but I haven't thought that far forward as I've only got the FS in voting

I do love you JP and it IS a wonderful world. ;~D

I just spent 20 minutes using that equation but couldn't get it to come out cause I didn't know the numbers BEFORE it started.

OK, I fell for it too. I was expecting somewhere in the 5's not a 3.7 (up from a 3.2). Had even decided to take a good long break from challenges! Guess I'll wait and make my decision tomorrow!

I'm just thrilled I have 65 views. Or 71 views. and 3 comments. I think. Well, maybe. But with 563 entries, every vote and comment is a blessing.

I have no idea whats going on anymore, but only hope it sorts itself out soon, as it is all to much for me today.....
I only hope no one else is playing this game, and doing the same, re low votes for an April fool joke, as I think the "Free Studies" is an important challenge, and deserves better IMO.....

Dear Langdon's Mother,

Thank you for your PM today. I am so sorry to hear about his latest episode. Really?!!! A straight jacket?!! I'm shocked to hear how he foamed at the mouth as well. Truly, your mother's heart must be stricken with such a son.

I hope his condition improves and he recovers soon from his own sense of humor. We are all praying for him.
