Hurry back, i'm dying to know. I don't understand half of what you are doing. and my guesstimate of 373 (using subtraction and addition and division until i end up with a three digit number) is very unsound!

Well, I'll be darned. The 750 number WAS indeed correct! I have to admit that I still don't understand your methodology in getting that number (I'll examine it more closely...!), but it worked, and I FINALLY found this thing!

Hey hey. I missed your post during the April Fool's Day carnage. What did you find ?
PS The methodology was just that if it wasn't a numerical puzzle to be solved by application of maths, then it was probably a straightforward substitution cipher like we all used to do when we were kids.
I enjoyed it though - if you get any more please post them.

The cache was a football-shaped container, hidden way at the top of a hill. With Geocaching, it's not so much *what* you found, but that you found it, if that makes any sense...
Thanks again for your invaluable help -- not sure I would have ever come up with the right answer!
The funny thing was that we went out and looked in this general area, and my 8-year-old daughter was actually playing on the log where it was hidden all along. Yeesh.
