Hey folks, need some help here, is there a plugin for photoshop 7.0 that allows conversion of Sony Raw .ARW files? I don't like the converter that came with the camera.

Thanks

Have you tried downloading the Adobe DNG Converter?

I'm affraid not. The Adobe DNG converter could have converted your ARW files to DNG and you could have opened these DNG with an earlier version of ACR like 2.3 but it seems that even ACR 2.3 was only compatible with photoshop CS then. Sorry.

I also don't like the converter program that came with it. I have in my editing a way to open RAW files, but it doesn't read ARW. I don't understand why they used a non standard file type. It isn't compatible with anything, and the RAW images really aren't better than the jpegs. I see pretty much the same quality no matter which I use. So much for jumping in blind.

How about Raw Shooter Essentials (RSE)? Is that still available as a free download? I know they were bought out...but links to the file could still exist? Just a thought.
