JFK Memorial Photo

That is probably the best image I have ever seen of a coin. Beautiful.

Here is my tribute. This is of the JFK Memorial in downtown Dallas, Texas.

Maybe we can sell a few of these today. I posted a bunch of links here and there and i'm getting hits. Yours come up as alternate selections at the bottom of my print so they should all get some visibility today and tomorrow.

I hope so ... I've seen coins done in silver and gold, and I think some physically cut out, but not silver and black like that -- a beautiful effect I'll probably try and copy someday :)

PS -- I sent a link to my relatives and added my comment to the photo page (also to bump it to the recently-commented page).

I took this for a challenge about a year ago. The X on the street is always there and is the spot Kennedy was when he was hit.

This is a macro shot of the proof coin from my 2003 set. The surface of that coin is like a mirror. Using a black reflector in the foreground helps keep that part of the coin black. Since I was shooting it through the plastic casing the coin comes in, I had to do some spot removal.

Here's a very small picture in picture thing I did with a crappy digital camera about 5 years ago when I visited the scene:

Here are some more I took of the sixth floor window, the grassy knoll, and from the grassy knoll.

Despite the balmy weather there were only modest crowds at JFK's grave this afternoon. But many photogs among them.
