After entering my furniture entry, I'm starting to think "what the hell did you do?" so, please tell me some others have had the same thought after putting something up that you initially thought was "witty" or "going to kick ass." |

I am right with you in this furniture challenge. I thought I would kick ass but instead I am having my ass kicked! Just the nature of DPC. But I still freakin love my shot! Let not the haters get you down. |

Heh. Wait a bit and you're going to have 200 people agreeing.
I think everyone takes shots they hate. Sometimes people even complain that a shot they hate winds up as one of their top scores.
And I've seen portfolio collections titled "What was I thinking?" or something similar.

Glad to see I am not alone. I think my concept was good, but my processing sucked! I was being witty by putting in an desaturate mask and then putting it back in the main subject matter - a good idea that looks like crap! And my score reflects it too. I'm just glad my alternative medicine entry is making up for it. I'm proud of that bad boy. |

Most of the time when I enter, I think my photo is pretty cool. But after the challenge had started and I started getting comments or a really low score and I looked at it closer I was like, well that was dumb.
Here are a few examples these are some of my worst, not however my worst, worst.

Do not feel bad it happens to me all the time.

Yeah Rich, you're right. Those are pretty bad. haha! No, just the first one is rather odd, but I like your landscape shot. Why aren't you happy with that one? |

It is not the shot that I am not happy with, it was the post processing on the last one. If you look at the tree in the foreground you will see a major halo that I didnt pick up and then with the tonality of the whole thing was shifted because I tried to get a look that was more warm feeling but made it horrible overall.
I reprocessed this once I got the comments on it to look like this:
Which is alot closer to the origonal and I think better than the one above.

I can't post a copy of the shot because I deleted every copy of it.
I had taken a picture of a grey plastic urn with smoke coming out of it for the Death challenge. It was horrid and what was worse it wasn't my style at all. I self-dq'd it and was happy to do so.
*ETA - This shot is find disturbing as hell and my fiancee hates it because it actually scares her:
I only keep it in my profile because it actually has two favs.

Okay, point taken, but don't beat yourself up. I really like the look of the first one, depite the "halo nazis" bringing you down. You know, sometimes a picture with nice colors is enjoyable too, not just seeing if you processed it to perfection. Now, with that said, my furniture entry still just plain old sucks! haha. Later! |

I don't like the one I have in Furniture right now, and its scoring a 6.7 ;/ Figures, huh? The ones I love score lower.

My now second highest score - but highest for a long time - was a photo I initially liked but now do not like. My fave got voted a 5.28. I was crushed. At least I like most of my top 5 scoring shots.
