just a quick question - would it be illegal if i had cloned out the radio tower in the back, in an advanced editing challenge?

I'd have said it was major as it would change the way I described the image.

I'd also call that a major element.

As far as I know, small distractions can be removed. I believe it says somewhere that you may remove powerlines etc... I believe a radio tower would fit that category.

Just one opinion, but I'd have said it could go.

I would want to clone it out and personally I don't see a problem with it. How about submitting to SC and get their opinion

Beyond kirbic's anyways... :)

Hey did you find out yet? I'm kind of curious.

i would say it IS a major element. it's the first thing that caught my attention...

I would say you can clone it out. I've seen some before and after pics from advanced challenges where a lot more than that was cloned out and they weren't DQ'ed. So if it was good enough for them, it should be good enough for you.

Oh, by the way, there is no more "major element" rule in advanced editing, that was taken out when the rules were rewritten.

Well - - as usual, this thread makes it clear as mud.

I'd say clone it out and paste in a cool lighthouse or something. But for absolute certainty, I would confer with Slippy, the three time red ribbon winner, he knows his stuff.
