According to research a couple years ago at Lawrence Berkeley National Labs, duct tape is useful for many things, but surprisingly ineffective at sealing ductwork. I hear the tape industry is now challenging those findings... |

The advantages offered by the higher end pixel pushing applications include some very powerful color correction and manipulation tools that aren't offered in software such as PhotoDeluxe. You will see people here commenting on 'curves'. These 'curves' are color adjustments within a specific color tone.
You are not 'disadvantaged' significantly by not having these tools, but I think you will find that you can really enhance your photos quite a bit by using some of them.
Photoshop Elements is quite nice and it's less than $100 as opposed to the $600+ pricetag on Photoshop.
You can also download a trial version at www.adobe.com - 30 days...see if you like it. |

No disadvantage. My second place Space Needle shot for the night challenge was not edited at all, just resized. I haven't been that lucky on every shot/challenge, but it is very possible to compete w/o PS... |

If duct tape is so good for everthing, why don't they make it all out of duct tape in the first place?!?
