My luck I would hit the shutter 1/2 a second too late and have to throw a dozen sofas! lol

LOL ... that would be a really expensive virtual blue ribbon, eh?! It would be my luck that after a dozen sofas I would only have blurry pics with 1/2 of a sofa in them!!

You can always practice with your friends... throw them out the window and try to get a good shot... I would suggest select the ones you don't like too much... or in-laws... in any case, you should find something to break before the real shot.

:P

I only have a 2nd story window, think my friends will bounce? That way I could use each one a few times! :)

hmmmm, now THIS is an idea, can I give them a lamp to hold? Would it be considered furniture in this case or would they have to have an end-table or something made of wood in their hands?

I will predict that (if he enters) Scalvert will do well in this challenge.

I actually have an idea for this one. Now I just need the other idea which will make it work.

I'm in. I think it's a bit out of the box, but I like it.

I think you will need some reflection element as well, maybe in a nearby pool?

small question about furniture. the knick-knack(i.e. this //images.google.it/images?hl=it&q=soprammobile&btnG=Cerca+immagini&gbv=2) are furniture? and the urban furnitures(i.e. this http://images.google.it/images?hl=it&q=arredo+urbano&btnG=Cerca+immagini&gbv=2)
are furniture?

so it's ok to have people in the furniture right? but what if they cover most of it?..not looking forward to DNMC votes that may be in my future. so I figured I'd ask first.

I have no idea how the voters will go, but IMO since the challenge is Furniture, then the furniture should be the main focus of the image -- if the people cover most of the furniture the people become the subject... yes?

I shot for hours yesterday and did a fairly complex set-up... I hate it! Dammit, not sure what to do now, go with something I hate or run all over the universe trying to find a shot I like more. :/

at college in new hampshire after a good snow storm we used to take the vinyl covered matresses out to the hill by the library at UNH and sled down on it. you could get three or four people at a time on one matress/ pretty fun stuff. all bouncy and what not.

Oh dear, I just read the title furniture and went for just that FURNITURE, then I saw the details "The challenge is to do something creative with furniture." wonder how strict voter will be now...mine is not creative :(

Forget the reflection, just aim the sofa for the pool and capture the splash - the splash shot supreme! :P

Well, mine is creative for ME. I tried something I haven't tried before, but folk will probably call it overdone... I still haven't decided whether to subject myself to a 4.5 or not.... sigh.

Unless some hot model willing to lie naked on the couch happens to knock on my door in the next 7 hours, I wouldn't touch this challenge with a ten foot pole.

I'm not entering, though I thought I had a shot ready.

I finished up at my mom's house today and it goes on the market tomorrow. Saying goodbye to the house where both she and my father passed away was more emotional than I'd expected.

My planned entry was shot there, using my grandmother's antique furniture, and a costume that my mother sewed. I know it's only worthy of maybe a 5 score, and was okay with that... until today. Now I have more feeling connected to it, and I just can't watch it get the votes it deserves. Instead, I'll post it after the challenge, since I DO want tips on improving it.

I had a few good ideas for this challenge ... but it was so cold, snowy and windy here I didn't get to be as creative as I'd have liked ... I'm in and like my shot, just not sure if it's as out-of-the box as it needs to be ...
