I know what you mean... I'm on pace for a PB now, and while I'm happy with my entry (I don't think more processing would make it any better, at 640px anyway) it certainly isn't better than my current top score.

This is my first challenge. I thought I would enter this one, because it was a more subject vs theme (ie love, hate).

My one comment so far is the obligatory "I need the whole tree".
This is rather exciting and now I anxiously await entering more challenges! Thanks to everyone here!

up to 5.44 and i was validated which is nice. I knew i didn't edit it but with all the talk of transfer software and the fact that other than minimal challenges i never shoot jpeg i was a bit worried. |

I just went through all the tree photos and I am going to slink into the corner with my dunce cap. I am not worthy to be in this challenge! :)
My lowest score ever. Probably because there is not enough "tree" to even throw me a "5" bone.
There are absolutely stunning images here!! Great job people!!

I just got validated, but the only thing I did was adjusted lighting levels. Was I allowed to do that?
I hope so, I will be so disapointed if I get DQ, this is the first score that I have had a 6 or higher, let a lone a 5.0. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Oh no, I don't think you were allowed any adjustments except resizing and sharpening. That's too bad.

I'm sorry Jamie, I wish I was doing that good. You can remove your photo so you don't have the DQ on your record. That's what I would do.

Actually, I don't think you can. You're only allowed to self-DQ without the pink DQ bar if there was no illegal editing. And a self-DQ still counts against you for suspension purposes if you're DQ'd later on for other entries.

Are you serious???? It says that you MAY: request removal of your own entry during the voting period IF none of your last 25 entries were disqualified or removed, and no rules were violated.
None of her last 25 have been DQ'd

I may be misremembering, but I do recall seeing it posted awhile back that you can't self-DQ citing illegal editing as the reason. But SC could clarify that easily.
Edit: just noting: "And no rules were violated" is also a part of that quote you put up. So if you violated the editing rules, you can't self-DQ. Or, at least, you shouldn't be able to do so.

To request a Self-DQ, you must be eligible to receive one as outlined above. The photo is "hidden" so it doesn't show up in your challenge history with the pink bar, but a Self-DQ does still count towards penalties if you have another one within the next 25 entries.

So she can self DQ her pic and it not count towards her as long as the next 25 aren't DQ'd in anyway???

Jamie, your image hasn't been validated. We've requested proof, and you've send proof and steps, and we're voting on it at the moment.

Yes, if a photo is determined eligible and subsequently receives a Self-DQ, it's "free" to the extent that a subsequent DQ does not occur within the next 25 challenges. If a subsequent (2nd, 3rd, etc.) DQ occurs for any reason, the Self-DQ does indeed count towards penalties.

The only difference between a Self-DQ and a "regular" DQ is that the Self-DQ image is not displayed at the end of the challenge results. |
