I guess it's sensible to have Canadians win in this category. ;-) |

well iceland is sort of a misnomer. greenland is actually the land of ice. i think it had something to do with tricking the vikings or something... or maybe it was the vikings tricking everyone else hmmpf ;}
we get our share of cold and ice here in vermont - so don't rule us out quite yet...

Don't forget, it didn't have to be winter ice. I drank my prop last night.

I have done alot of experimenting this past week with creating 'good ice'.
I have experimented with a new photographic technique.
I have been rained on.
I have gotten dirty (NEVER wear white pants on a photo shoot).
I have been bitten by ants on two of the outings.
I have gone out on location not once, not twice, not three times but four.
Ultimately Mother Nature has not cooperated with me to match what I have visualized in my head:-(
I have learned TONS from this challenge but I am going to sit this one out and wait for the right conditions.
Good luck to all who enter! It will be most interesting to see what everybody else accomplished.

My grandmothers would be mortified to know that you were wearing white pants before Easter. What is this world coming to??????

I tend to get pretty dirty when I shoot. Maybe it has something to do with things like this:

I was lying on my stomach on the ground to get a low angle shot - that was the dirty part.
The scary part - after a few shots I felt some stinging on my left foot. I looked down and found I had hit an ant hill and they were all over my sneaker and quite a few on my ankle and leg. I have a few bites to show for it and it will most likely itch for the next few days.
What us photographers go through to get a shot LOL. |

It just hailed where I work and I didn't have a camera. Drove a block from work and it was sunny.
Damn Micro-climates :( |

Be afraid, be really afraid. The land of ICE arises and kicks but in this challenge. Fortunately it's been pretty darn cold here and most of our buts have almost frozen off, thank God for the hot springs. :)
But seriously, we got ice here, but not much snow and I doubt we can beat Canada in either of those. Cold hard truth. :) |
