I'm not going to discuss details, but I find it hilarious that out of the so far 5 comments I've received on my Book Title photo, each one has almost precicely contradicted another, so that so far at this point, depending on how you look at it, I've done everything right or everything wrong! But, with a score in the mid 4's at this point, I'm leaning more towards the wrong side... ;-p
I'm not complaining! I actually just find it really funny and quite interesting, and I felt I had to share with the community.
This is fun!

And you have four comments in the first day of voting, which you can consider a victory! Your image evoked enough thought that people were moved to comment.

Yup, been there, done that.
I've had, in each case (pair) for the same photo:
"too grainy" vs "love the grain"
"Too dark" vs "great use of shadows"
"Cluttered" vs "love the composition"
"Lose the xxxxx" vs "love the xxxx"
*laugh*
But it is that there is so much variety that makes things fun. If there was too much of an exact formula you had to stick to it would become boring.
My current entry for books I didn't particularly like, others of mine I have loved. After almost 100 votes it is obviously going to be my highest scoring photo yet *laugh*

Mine managed to get someone to the point of saying they 'hate' it - I'm quite pleased about that. |

lol - hate is just another way of saying, "I don't understand this", but without the confidence enough to admit it. |

Don't mind it Darcy, people are different. :-) I have 8 comments now, and they are quite different. One says he loves xyz thing, the other says he hates the same thing. One says his favourite thing on the photo is abc, other says awful I have put it there. :-) I think these are just subjective opinions, if we were thinking in the same way, there would be 237 same titled, very similar submissions on this challenge.

No, the person understands it well enough to hate it |

...makes you want to take up that photographic style more seriously doesn't it? Isn't photography about arousing emotions after all?
Ron.
