Here are some cool tutorials that show Lightroom in action.

| This looks pretty cool. Just last night I read the article in Popular Photography about Lightroom. I would be very interested to hear what folks have to say about this. I'll try and watch some of these tutorials tonight. |

| I should have a free copy of Lightroom 1.0 coming to me as a registered owner of Rawshooter Professional. I'll definitely be reviewing these tutorials again, and playing with Lightroom when it is available to me. A number of the features are of great interest to me, so if it isn't too much of a dog on my machine, it may become my default interface for initial processing. Also potentially a wonderful tool for maintaining a catalog, which is something I'm sorely lacking in right now. |

Thanks for posting these tutorials.
The 30 day free demo is now available. I dl'ed it a few hours ago and so far am quite impressed. I REALLY like the control it allows for b&w conversion. Also, Adobe still has it priced at a $100 discount until the end of the month, so there's still time to demo it and save some money, if you like it.
FWIW, it's pretty zippy on an AMD 3200+ with 2gigs ram. |

Anyone hear anything yet on Lightroom for RSP customers?
I got the "beta tester" announcement ... still wondering where the RSP owner announcement is.

I just saw that Lightroom is shipping with a beta tester price. Of course the Adobe site is down for maintenance when you click.
I'm wondering the same thing about it for RSP users! I haven't heard from them in quite a while as per an RSP emailing list. Think we're forgotten already? |

There's an RSP owner announcement on the Adobe Lightroom website. I saw it last night.
Just downloaded the v1.0 release trial. Much more impressed with this than the beta. They've addressed a whole lot of issues. The spot repair tool is great. The direct image hue/ luminance adjustments are awesome. Working with a graphics tablet and being able to click/ drag on colours to adjust them directly is really powerful, rather than using tools off to the side to indirectly work on the image.
Seems much faster and more slick too. I was on the fence about buying it before. |

What's the beta tester price - do you mean the $100 off price, or is there something beyond that ? |

When you click, that part of the site is down for maintenance.
For RSP users, I just went to the forum:
Q: When will Photoshop Lightroom 1.0 be available for RawShooter Premium customers?
A: The Photoshop Lightroom offer email for RawShooter Premium customers will be distributed by February 23rd with instructions on how to obtain a free downloadable copy of Lightroom 1.0.
Q: Can RawShooter Premium customers get started with Photoshop Lightroom before receiving the offer email?
A: Yes, please download the 30 day trial version of Lightroom at the following URL and the offer email will provide instructions on how to obtain the serial number that will license the trial version of Lightroom.
//www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=photoshop_lightroom&loc=en_us
Of course, downloads are down right now too :( |

Yep I got the same, down for maintenance. I wasnt aware that Pixmantec still had a forum going does anyone have a link for that, I am not sure if they have my new e-mail address as it has changed recently and if not I wont get the notification. I did download the Beta version which is why I got their notification, but dont want to miss the Pixmantec notification.
Thanks

I just saw that the discount for beta testers is 100 off the retail price of 299, which comes to $199.00. not sure it's worth it, but maybe i'm wrong

That's why there's a free 30-day trial. Try it out and see if you like it. I, for one, think it's worth it (and I'm not just saying that because I'm wanting the "RSP ugprade").

| I just bought it. Seems much smoother, colors more accurate and any presets developed in the beta version can easily be added to the new version. Great program for doing masses of photos! |

Is this really true? The last beta (4) version wasn't able to catalog my photos within 24 hours!!!! |

You're pushing it with only 512Mb of RAM. ;o) |

www.pixmantec.com :-) You have to have the right email in element5 (the place that did the payment processing for Pixmantec). |

Call Adobe support if you bought Raw Shooter Premium and didn't get the email for the free upgrade to Lightroom. That's what I had to do. It seems that my junk mail filter was eating the original email.
pixmantec.com now redirects to the Adobe site. |

Lightroom 1.0 Free presets
I found this link on the lightroom killer tips sight. The presets are quick to use and the results are amazing.
Check them out...
