I got some comments of people that they didn't get my entry.
So time for a little explanation.
this was my entry:
Yes it is supposed to look like JLo's bum ;-) They are two spoons on top of each other, lit with a flashlight with 10 seconds exposure to highlight the curves and block out the recognizable spoon parts.
I found it a bit dissapointing that the voters wanted to see what the objects were first before looking at the complete picture and what it was supposed to be.
Ohwell...first I was told my nude entry lacked artistic ability, so I went for something a little more artistic in this challenge and got slammed for it :-D

i agree that this is an artistic shot ... but i think that maybe voters didn't get the reference or see a link to personification. looking at your photo, i don't see it as being a bum! :)
people seemed to prefer the obvious entries this time round ... partly because there's so much differing opinion about what personification actually means!
your shot would have made for an awesome abstract challenge entry! :)
better luck next challenge mate!

I think just like I should have named my entry "Pavlov's fork" you probably should have named your's "JLo's bum." I think I remember knowing what you were talking about with your title, but I can see how many wouldn't get it. |
