I'm looking for some. I don't want any of that stuff with music in it -- just some old school Gregorian Chant. I tried to find some, but it all had music in it. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Hopefully, someone can give a better example than I can. werd.

I have a pretty good CD in my storage unit that I don't remember having any music. I'll take a look tonight.

If you're open to other types of chants then you could also give the Gyuto Monks - Freedom Chants from the Roof of the World a try.

Oaky, I have the following CD...

The Benedictine Monks of Santo Domingo De Silos

I can email it to you (it'll take a while) or send you a CD. The whole CD is about 40MBs

I found these guys while listening to Bulgarian Women's Choir. They use instruments a bit, but they're very good. If you go to that website and scroll down they actually have a few links to YouTube of them playing live.

I just bought one. "Gregorian Chant for Meditation," by Alberto Turco & Nova Schola Gregoriana. Excellent stuff!

I really like the way a chorus of monks sound when they sing. Makes me feel good inside.

Gregorian chant does not have accompaniment. If what you are hearing has instruments in it, it's not Gregorian. Polyphonic music didn't come until later (I believe in the 12th century or so); the same goes for harmonies.

I went to amazon.com and put in Gregorian Chant under Music and a ton of CD's popped up. Check it out.

By the way - those Bulgarian chicks are amazing, aren't they?? I'm an early music and traditional music fanatic - and a musician, too.
