I've been away for quite some time. We're homeschooling our daughter now so photography has taken a back seat and I'm quite busy! I did however have a chance to catch our little buddy outside the other day. He's quite tame now and I was only about 2 fee away when I took these.

Those shots are great. The colors and focus are perfect.
I took these a few days ago at Universal Studios in Orlando. You could tell people had been feeding him because he was not scared of us at all.

The expressions you captured are great and I love the backgrounds. The images just seem a little dark though. |

We have Black Squirrells in this part of UK. Someone told me they are quite rare but there is loads around the church in town.. Loads being about 10/20 of them, far more greys, no reds, no whites.
Here are 2 shots from around the Churchyard

I was going to post this in another thread, but I didn't want to steal skiprow's thunder. (hahahahahahahha).
Here are my favorite squirrels in the whole wide world.
#15 is my son, Travis, and #1 is my nephew Brooks in their first ever basketball game two weeks ago. (sorry for the blurry spots, these were not taken to be posted all over the Internet, originally, so I don't want anyone trakin' me down.
Oh yea, their team is the Upward Squirrels. :) |

BTW - on hearing the story about not eating squirells in NJ, my first thought was "Do people really eat squirells?" Yuck! Isn't that like eating a rat with a bushy tail?

Squirrels are delicious ... really :-) I have eaten them. Never ate a rat though, so can't make a comparison for ya.

LOL! I'll have to take a shot out of my living room window tomorrow to post to this thread. That squirrel you see in my photo lives in the house next door to me. They have a nest with about 6 of them living there. The people who own the house tried nailing the spot they were getting into together, and they have since chewed a hole right through the middle of it. I sit at my computer and watch them thumb their twitchy little noses at the neighbors.
On a side note, they learned how to open my kitchen window screen this summer and were coming in and stealing dog biscuits out of the box that I had on a counter under that window. It was freaking me out that every time I left and came home my window was open until we caught them. We did figure out a way to block them out though.
On another side note, my aunts daughter was feeding squirrels over the summer out of their sliding door to a deck. They went out one day and she forgot to leave her friend a treat, so he chewed through the screen door and rummaged in her kitchen and ate her cats food. They had fun trying to get the squirrel to leave. They later found the cat hiding upstairs. Needless to say, they always made sure to close the glass part as well on leaving the house.

I saw these two little guys when I was at the zoo last Tuesday. One of them even found a piece of pizza. He scored big.
