Just in case Bear_Music self nomination did not take, I will gladly nominate him. Now donât get me wrong I would love a OOBIE (itâs even a goal on my profile). But this photo deserves serious consideration also.
Robert is one of the good guys, a damn good photographer, who is not afraid to share his knowledge. I also think he should be made a honorary member of Team Suck..
OK, so I work 10 hour days and miss a lot. LOL. I just noticed that Robert got the super OOBIE, well deserved

Ok, I might be a pain in the ( i ).
But I think a special YAPPIE is needed. I have been going threw the Tree challenge entries and on several of our photos (Team Suck) and Iâm sure countless others, I have seen the same comment. â I need the whole treeâ posted by JimyThing. Itâs not only that he copied and pasted the same comment over and over, but his entry into Trees was in fact tree stumps. Check it out, you might see it deserves to be addressed in a very Team Suck kinda way LOL.

I can't nominate myself, so I won't :-) But this one is either outside the box or under the burlap, take your choice:

But you just won a lifetime OOOOOOBIE, so you can simply add this one to the list of those shots that fall under that award. :) |
Yeah, for sure :-) I was just having fun. I think for a tree shot that actually USES trees, this one's about as OOB as they come, and it hasn't really been displayed anywhere (being so far in the pits score-wise as to escape notice entirely), and I just wanted to fling it up, you know? Notice how cleverly this response bumps my baby yet again?
And Alan, thanks :-) I actually AM sort of an honorary Team Sucker, since I infiltrated the website a week ago :-)

Two OOBIE nominations, one from me, and one from klstover.
From me, in the Alternative Medicine challenge, a huge move out of his very high scoring box into the realm of the creative and offbeat for timfythetoo with this shot of his daughter:
And from Kelly, a nod to annakiya33 for her Red entry, about which Kelly wrote: "I like it!! That color combination has always appealed to me. Very nice sweeping motion - very graceful."

I'd also like to nominate Louis for a YAPPIE. He has a long history of providing some very constructive comments to users, mostly at random though also when requested. He's participated in a couple of the 30 day projects and shared a wealth of information on lighting/composition/editing and such, as well as providing encouragement. He's recently stopped by the Minimal Editing 7-day project and provided comments and advice. And on one of my "just in my portfolio" shots, he offered the following, which is pretty much dead-on:
In some thread you recently said something about your history of scientific training (sorry for the paraphrasing, or if I blundered completely). Many of your photos hint at that for me, with the regularlity of patterns offset by something inherently random and unique, like the trunk and branches against the wall here, or the interesting shapes at bottom framed by the brown swath from which the natural shapes ascend. Also your formal cropping choices bring this home for me, here, as well as in your recent free study entry. There's a real beauty hinted at in your understanding of patterns both regular and natural.
Oh, and he has a magnificent portfolio. |

My nominations for Oobie:
Snowbuns by Pooba which is a nicely abstract slightly erotic look at the frigid side of nature.
or
Realm of the Iceni by MilesW
which is a highly evocative impression with little detail. Yet, it conveys a lot.
or
Uphill moss by Ursula. Ursula is always out of the box and this is a very nice abstract. Her quality work is always highly consistent.
Fine, I guess I overstayed my welcome here.... ;-)

pre-emptive OOBIE nomination for
a brown ribbon, no less. the duck's head was captured moving in a circular motion. It was a creative but perfectly apt interpretation of the challenge. |

I nominate the entry by xianart to the Dirt challenge:
If I recall correctly, it was the only submission to the challenge that wasn't a literal "dirt" interpretation (apologies if I've overlooked someone else's OOB submission, and no insult intended to the "literals") - it was clever, surprising, well-executed, and IMO not voted highly enough. |

Normally noise is a result of someone wanting a faster shutter speed - that might be why this didn't place higher - this is quite OOB IMO.

I would like to nominate pekesty for the Yappie. First for the comment on my grain image -
My initial thought was that it would be nice to see some hint of his eye. But I think that thought may be wrong, as it might change the emotive feel of this. I love how you found the perfect balance of detail and grain. Well done!
I appreciated his honesty along with the time he must have taken lookig at the image and then commenting.
Secondly I would like to nominate him after looking through his comments given section. I believe he has close to quadruple the numbers given than received and most of them are unique and well thought out.
So with that I nominate pekesty

David, redmoon, deserves a nomination for not only the great comment he left on my Circle II entry, but for all his comments. He takes the time to critique technicals, discusses artistic merit, gives advice on possible improvements as well as leaving his own weighted scoring system. Amazing effort he puts into commenting.
I think we could all learn a thing or two, read here
