i can attest to the difficulty in reaching the bottom. my one venture into the art of the nude landed me a 'burnt cookie'. however a true nude photo beat me to the bottom.

i went a step beyond trying to botch mutiple aspects of correct photography, and tried a different approach. i aimed at creating a photographically correct image that would stir the voters intellect. i tired to get the voters to look deeper into the image than the 'in-your-face' T&A typically ranked highly around here. this is another key technique to land near the bottom. though not fool-proof, i feel it might be a more challenging approach, and maybe worth a bit more than simply not putting any effort in.

if you aren't weak in the stomach check out the true brown...

To get them, many people to vote your photo a "1" takes an intentional multiple problem approach to the challenge.

And Whiterook seems able to do this with his photography, as well as other things, as seen in the "Mudcat" Grant no-hitter example. : - )

i might have to bookmark his website. there are two other sites that might compete with his for the 'utterly disturbing' catagory. i'm sure there are others out there though.

the photo galleries are key.

I would like to propose a toast to Whiterook's rather large cult following: 23 people have him selected as a 'favorite photographer' on DPC.

Edit to add, I just checked out this website recommended by soup, above: //www.pixyland.org/peterpan/
I may need therapy now.

No-hitters by Jim "Mudcat" Grant? 2003 - Baltimore vs. Tampa Bay???? Let me count the ways that this is wrong:

1.)Mudcat Grant never played for Baltimore
2.)Mudcat Grant retired in 1971
3.)Mudcat Grant never pitched against Tampa Bay
3.)Noone on the Orioles has pitched a no-hitter against Tampa Bay
4.)Noone named James Grant has ever played for the Orioles
5.)On April 5, 2003, the Orioles played the Boston Red Sox
6.)7 of the 9 players in the Orioles line-up didn't play for the Orioles in 2003
7.)3 of the players never played for them at all -- ever
8.)Who the hell are the players in the Tampa Bay line-up?
9.)Mudcat Grant never pitched a no-hitter

This guy cracks me up. I kinda wish I knew him in real life.

I see a lot of similarities in theme and style with this guy's work. I'd guess his images would do equally well in the commercial gaze of dpc.

Not sure if that list exposes Posthumous, the so-called exponent of anti-hero photographers, as a fraud since his name is not on the list of people who have added whiterook as a favourite ;-)

That's just how I feel. Based on his images, it looks like he may live ob Cape Cod. I fired off a PM seeking a meet-n-greet. We'll see if it works...

OMG! You are right. That's wrong on SOOOOO many levels. I can't help imagining Leroy doing something like that.

well thanks for tying me directly to it. ;}

i am in no way associated with the pixyland website... !

whiterooks' is more of a strange culmination of information that makes no sense to me... the other ones i posted don't really make sense either, but they seem to be much more 'disturbing' than whiterooks'. sorry about that....

He did it again, got last place in the Table Shot challenge. So I had to go look at his portfolio and I noticed that in the Fill the Frame challenge he made quite an accomplishment.....he came in worst than last! The place was 211/210!

Rook keeps his no-hitter streak going! Seven of his last seven outings! Currently, he's 13 for 18 in last place finishes, an astounding DPC stat. The Site Council is even creating a new category for Rook, placing his last two finishes in the -1%, or one place below last (Table Top II, he placed 179th out of 178 entries; Fill the Frame II, 211th of 210). With this new statistical addition from our wise Site Council, they have recognized Rook's genius standout status among the Cellar Dwellers of DPC.

One place below the Brown: What will we call this new Ribbon? I suggest we name this new Ribbon after the Master: The "Rook" Ribbon. Here's to Whiterook and all future 'worst than last' (thanks KarenNfld for this phrase) winners! Go get Rooked!

Sooner or later he'll win a blue with all the cynical 10s he scores after people recognise his dreadful pictures.

He has a new contentder though. do not underestimate velazquez who after 2 challenges has an avg of under 3. He got the brown ribbon in the other open challenge and finished next to last in nude (he had the bannna shot)

As it has already been stated in this thread, It takes talent to reach the heights that Whiterook has.

Amazing!
