| That would be an awsome idea, people could submit pictures/tutorials or w/e, theres pretty much an endless supply of stuff to use here, i think it'd be a hit. Id subscribe for sure, Perhaps up the membership by like +$10/year and you get the magazine or something? I dunno just a thought, but ya DPChallenge the magazine has a nice ring to it. |

A monthly DPC magazine would be just excellent, and I look forward to the day when DPC hopefully has one.....

I think it would get bigger than we all imagine. I'm an idiot when it comes to production cost, and all the technical b.s., but it sures seems like a nice addition to the community here.

I'm SURE that it would be bigger than we all imagine. A rad-tag group of amateurs, pros and beginners all tossed into one magazine. Is there anything like it out there now? I imagine that it would also drive our membership here up as well, thus ensuring that I will never win a ribbon. Still, it would be a great project if put together right, and I think it would be great for our site.

I'm sure it isn't simple to just throw a magazine together but I think it is a great idea. I for one would sign up for a subscription. I subscribe to like 5 or 6 different photography magazines right now and getting quite bored with them and think that DPC Mag would be a breath of fresh air. Call B&H Photo, Mpix, MyPhotoPipe and all of those type places to get advertising support. After they take a look at this site and see how many people participate and the kind of quality here I'm sure they would not hesitate to give it a try...
First copy could come out in January, 2008...

I think this is a great idea. I would love to see one, or several of my images in a production like this. How would others take it though? Would there have to be approval from everyone, or maybe something added to the challenge submission process? I'm in, should not be hard to find advertising.
Would love more to see it in print... but understand the PDF.

i like this idea, but i would like it to be different than a rehash of the challenge winners here.
the trick is going to be figuring out how to find the "diamonds in the rough" that don't make the front page but are still worthy of attention. and the challenge THERE is that if we've already voted on all of these images, how do we go back through them and look at them with a different perspective?
the idea of the magazine is great, don't get me wrong. but if it's going to be a print version of what we have here on the site (same photos, themes, etc.) then what value does it add to those of us who are already here?

IMO, why waste time re-discussing photos? That gets enough forum time. The only benefit of it would possibly be a different set of 'underrated photos' chosen by whichever group of people are tasked with choosing them.
Maybe one person on the 'team' could be tasked with choosing a 'diamond in the rough' from each challenge to write a MONOLOGUE on :)
