i think it's risky bizz choosing a figurine of any kind for a challenge.
i think they suck. sorry, just being honest.

I agree, unless you really do something special with it or you have a really interesting figurine, stay away from them. That said, my still life is doing terrible. Nobody seems to consider it a still life. I'm very happy with it though, even if it doesn't break 5.

People have said this same thing about pets, kids, flowers, bugs, the moon, and lots of other stuff. I say, if you want to take a picture of your figurine, your pet, your kid, your flower, your bug, whatever, then do it, and do it well. I won't hate your picture because it is of a figurine. I'll look at your picture before I decide if I hate it or not. Aparently, not everyone will give you the same courtesy, however.

A figurine at least meets the 'Still Life' challenge - more so than a person or a pet! However, a shot just of the figurine probably wouldnt do well - introducing other factors, such as complimentary surroundings, creative lighting, etc, would improve votes, I think.

I love figurines ... I even started my own thread regarding my love of figurines.

If the figurine is not done by setzler, i don't want to see it
