Related to the link recently posted by Marc ( Marc).

What online coffee-table-book printing companies have you used? What did you think of them?

 I have only used www.MyPublisher.com
I selected them based on a review I dug up somewhere.

I purchased a few of their 'classic hardcovers' (12x8.5). I think it was $30 for the first 40 pages (front-back), and .99 a page thereafter.

I think that their print quality and materials were quite nice. The actual binding wasn't all that good in my opinion. Nothing has fallen apart, but I can tell it isn't the best job possible.

They allow you to submit full bleed. They also have the typical layouts. I did full bleed on every page and formatted my own double-portrait-pages layout.

Their software was easy to use and the final representation shown to me is exactly what I got. It would have been nice if the software let you combine full bleed on some pages, and multiple-images on other pages... but I don't think it would let me (I would have to double check that).

Let me know who you have used and what you thought of them...

Blurb ( //www.'blurb.com' ) produce really nice looking books. I've seen several of them and I really liked the results. Very minimal branding in them too. They have some new coffee table sized books coming in the next couple of weeks.

SharedInk //www.sharedink.com have a photographer's program at //www.siphotographer.com that gives more options. Their newer bindings look pretty cool too.

//www.asukabook.com is towards the high end, about $200 per book (sign up for the actual pricing)

My next few books are going to be done with blurb. They now have more of a traditional book ethos though (i.e, with words in them and selling to more than one person) rather than one off photobook/ album printing.

I've used MyPublisher and the results looked good enough. I didn't much like the peek-through cover with the hole in it though. I'm much more interested in the blurb dust jackets that you can customise front/back and inside leaves.

I've used lulu.com before as well and have only ever been disappointed in the cheap quality of what I got from them. Other's seem to have differing results with them.

Thanks Gordon - I have considered Blurb as well - the look good and are less expensive it seems.

P.S. I read recently (on some post or another) that you are not a pro - it has haunted me for some reason - I was sure that you were - you seem to have all of the technical aspects covered for sure.

Gordon - mypublisher has fixed their cover - they now embed the pic.
Are you sure that blurb will be producing larger sizes soon?
