I received, obviously, a lot of negative votes, for a lot of reasons. All you have to do is look at the number of views. (Wish there was a ribbon for "most viewed"! lol!) While I accept those negative votes as a fact of life, I am proud of my entry. It was clearly a "wildlife" shot. I had 100% positive comments. And, I didn't cheat the rest of the field by going to a zoo and faking a shot "in the natural environment". I voted all the way through, of course. And, I left a lot of comments. 100% comments for the low votes and many comments for the very best real wildlife images.

So congratulations to the winners, in advance! I agree there were a lot of quality images in this challenge!

Hey Lady with the most awesome Christmas Card photo (that's what I always remember when I see your user I.D.)

Glad to see that you're doing well in this challenge. I look forward to seeing which entry is yours.

Been watching. Looks like alot of really good scores. Was hoping for a top 10. Now it looks like hopefully top 20. A very nice 31 comments though.

Congratulations to all those who submitted to this challenge. There are a lot of incredible wildlife entries.

It is a shame only three will get ribbons because many more than that are deserving.

Even though mine definitely won't be ribboning...I have to state that I never thought it was ribbon material. And after looking at the entries...wow...there are some incredible shots. Way more deserving than mine...so congrats to all who entered.

Less than 15 minutes to go for the truth to be revealed.

I was hopign for a top 20, but having read this thread I think I should be happy if I make top 50.

Good luck everybody! Really great stuff in there. I do agree there should be more than three ribbons in this one.

Of course ... My first 7+ and it had to be this challenge, where it won't be enough!

Some great entries; glad to be a part of it. Good luck to all.

And thanks for the great comments (44)!

12 entries scored 7+! Amazing competition.

Maybe those who chose to take zoo shots would like to hold those for the zoo challenges. And, those who did not show any wildlife in their environment should understand they got a "pass" from voters who did not read the challenge criteria. Overall, congratulations to a fine set of wildlife images!

My entry deserved the crap score, 11th from the bottom, just wait till you see my free study entry!!!!!
01/29/2007 11:16:45 AM · #423
Mine was voted generously where I came in close to last. It's fair. I should have made mine bigger. I would have done a lot better. Better luck for me next time.

Perhaps we take the 'wildlife' challenge topic to seriously. A good picture of wildlife is a good picture whether taken in a backyard, wildlife preserve or zoo. None are 'natural' but all yield wildlife in its habitate.

I think the zoo is the only place I could get a decent shot for a wildlife challenge. The only wildlife I get around my way are gangs of kids drinking cider on street corners and the odd slug!!
