I met this lovely old piano today...

It's amazing how few hits this section of the forums gets. Awesome pic John. Love the B&W treatment. Happen to know how old that piano is? Got any wider shots? I love old pianos.

Cool shot. I like the format of your blog too.

Very nice shot of a facinating old piece. I like the close crop, it leaves some to the imagination and focuses the viewer on the keys and strings - which are rather unusual - reminds me somewhat of an old typewriter. And I agree, definetly a great shot for the B&W conversion.

Man, I need to go back to Weston and meet some old cameras again. I hope that shop is still there.

It's not that old in the greater scheme of things... maybe 30 or 40 years...

I did shoot some wider shots but I haven't decided if I like them or not. I may shoot at this subject again later.

It's a nice shot, John. The whole blog is very nice, actually :-)

Wow...just...wow. This photo has so much going for it, John. Love the tones and composition.

Although, I must say, I like this toned version even better:

Did it make music for you?

It did, and the silence was beautiful.

:) Sometimes, that's the best music.

It was nice. The silence extended further than the piano. I was the only patron in the coffee shop at 11am on Saturday morning. The guy behind the counter was studying for his classes this coming week. I think he thought I was a bit weird as I photographed the inside of this piano, but that's ok. I thought he was weird too :)

I love those moments.
