People in this world are pathetic. I posted a sofa and love seat on craigslist and got some replies. One guy sent me a reply from 2 different emails. The first email says he can only pay by check and that he would send a truck to pick it up after i cashed the check (yeh yeh), so I didnt respond. In the second email he said he was still wondering if it was available, but since he used a different email addy i responded because i didnt know it was the same guy. So he writes back this morning and says that he needs to know if i'll take a check because thats the only way he can pay. He also said its for his brother who is living in the UK and he needs to ship it over there ASAP. Why in the world would you ship furniture overseas when he could just buy it there. I sent him an email back saying I dont take checks. I didnt think these guys would waste their time for such little money. I was only selling it for 200.00.

Sounds like a 419 to me. They frequently say they are in the UK to throw you off guard.

Also, beware of dialing certain phone numbers. There's a scam for that too.

Maybe it's a very special couch that's frame was constructed of diamonds and rare gems. The couch was never supposed to be sold from the manufacturer. It was part of a top secret smuggling operation led by English drug lords. They've probably been tracking your every movement since you bought it!

I wish! the only thing under the cushions were rocks from my ex's stupid pug. He likes to get them from outside and chew on them.
