I just like to keep my expectations reasonable ;). I do believe the top 20 could all be 7's. 2005 went down to #19 before hitting the sixes(and many of those would have been 7+ in any other challenge). More entries in 05 though... |

| Has anyone else's score taken a nose dive today? With 200+ votes, I wouldn't expect my score to fluctuate that much, but I have gone down by .1 today. |

I'm still holding my breath, hoping to make it to the 50% mark.

Indeed. As large as this challenge is, and as high as the scoring is, I think this is one where the scoring percentile will be more meaningful than thinking in terms of "Top 20" or "6 vs. 7". I'd like to be inside the 90th percentile - that's the "Top 70". ;-)

Hmm, I guess I didn't realize '05 had that many. Now that I look at those again that was an impressive collection, which begs the question was this year's crop better? I'm inclined to say no but I do need to go through them again.

Yeah, from what I've seen, last years crop of best of's was quite a bit better. my average vote for this bunch has been pretty sad and my page of voted images contains only a (fairly generous) handful at 8+. In 2005, my 10's were more than a page. as were my 9's and 8's was at two pages.
Of course I'm only 22% finished. Too many midterms.
5.8201 and still sliding. |

I think this is the most steady scores I've ever seen in a challenge. I've gone between a 5.8 & 6.0 the whole time.

Mmmmm.... That's strange, a few minutes ago I had 228 votes with an Avg Vote of 6.4823, now I'm reading 227 with an Avg Vote of 6.4802 .....
Anyone else noticed something like this?

Weird stuff!
Could it have anything to do with the fact that at the beginning of the voting there were 714 entries and now there are inly 707?

Well I am excited about my photo, its at a 5.69, but I got my first favorite in a challenge since I began. Thanks to who ever you are. I will formally thank that person after said challenge is complete. Hopeing to be in somewhere in the 500's with my score. Best of luck to all.

been up to a 5.84 and down to a 5.74 - pretty consistent guess I am getting mostly 6's and 5's - not bad I still need a better camera (my excuse) and some editing in CS lessons. I am getting my first lesson tomorrow.

Finished voting myself on every entry, very few got under 5 from me, mostly 6,7,8 and a few 9's & 10's...there are some fantastic shots in there so I'm very happy to just get a little better than my average for mine :)
