| Can anyone tell me if the bogen 3021pro can simulate all the features of the giottos tripod shown here. Scroll down to see the features of the giottos tripod. |

3021 Pro can do all of that except angle the center column when it is mounted crosswise: on the 3021, it is limited to horizontal mounting. I think there's an add-on for the 3021 that allows one to change the nagle of the column, but I haven't used it.
On the plus side, the 3021 has flip-locks instead of twist-locks for the legs; much quicker to use, and they are adjustable for tension.

I have used the horizontal column mount on my 3021bpro exactly two times in the several years I have had it. I know it's nice to be able to do it when you want to, but I haven't found great use for that function.

I use it all the time when I want to cantilever my 10-22mm outside the confines of a bridge/ Probably do it a couple times a week, actually. The lens is so wide that you have to get outside the bridge, or have a nasty piece of it in the foreground. Used it on the "winter sunset" shot, in fact.

| But does'nt anybody have a giottos 9170 or 9180? I saw a comment on amazon about it being slightly shaky on the top end. |
