Cockatiels generally only live to about 20 years.
Dawn has had Tommy since 1979 and was 2 yrs old when she got him.
RIP dude.

That's too bad. He looks like a really cool bird, especially with the mohawk. He looks like he has attitude. I'm not trying to be glib here. The death of a pet is never easy, and I really do feel for you.
edit to add: I'm gonna go pet my dog for a while now.

She's pretty upset over it, but knew it was coming.
He was fighting it all day, just to keep his head up, breath, etc.
An old Sony Mavica video (I forget just what he was saying exactly...)

That really hurts to lose one that you have had so long. I lost my buddy "Teddy," a goffins cocatoo last April, and I still miss him greatly. 'Teals are so personable and loveable that it's like losing a family member.

He was 30?! That's amazing. I know it doesn't make it any easier to lose him, but he must have had a great life to have been loved for so long. He was a lucky bird.
